Postdoctoral Fellows
UC Davis Offers Excellent Training Environments for Postdocs.
We are looking for exceptional candidates who have a PhD, or is in the final stage of obtaining a Ph.D., in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, molecular biology, chemical engineering or related fields. Essential skills include one of the following: molecular cloning (bacteria), single-cell microscopy, protein purification, and other fundamental skills in molecular biology. We are also looking for candidates with experience in mathematical modeling of biological systems and cellular biophysics. Preference will be given to candidates who have the necessary background and interest to incorporate multidisciplinary and quantitative approaches in their research. Excellent writing and communication skills in English are required. The candidate should be highly motivated, creative, and excited by the engineering of synthetic systems to address important, fundamental questions in biology and biological engineering.

Interested candidates should submit a cover letter stating the applicant’s interests in our research, a CV, two sample publications, and the contact information of three references to Prof. Tan (cmtan at ucdavis dot edu). We strive to train the best and next generation scientists who work at the frontier of synthetic biology.
